Gin Wigmore Announces April 2nd 2013 For 'Gravel & Wine' Us Album Release

Mercury Records artist Gin Wigmore, who already has Americans buzzing from placements in the Heineken/Skyfall cross-promotional TV spots ("Man Like That") and the Guinness Black Lager ads ("Black Sheep") will release her highly-anticipated sophomore album GRAVEL & WINE on April 2nd. Wigmore has confirmed nationwide TV performances on The Ellen DeGeneres Show for April 4th, and an encore performance on NBC's The Tonight Show with Jay Leno for April 5th.

Hailed by London's Sunday Mirror as "New Zealand's best export," and by the BBC as "a whirlwind of energy," Wigmore's new album GRAVEL & WINE began when, hungry to feed her appetite for the blues, she took a two month solo journey along the Mississippi Blues Trail and the heartland of America "to wrestle my emotions and bring out the raw grit hiding in my tightly guarded sub-conscious." Working her way from rural juke joints to the Rev. Al Green's church in Memphis, Wigmore finally landed in Santa Monica to record GRAVEL & WINE with producer Butch Walker (P!nk, Cee-Lo Green, Katy Perry, Hot Hot Heat, Train and Gavin DeGraw). The album arrives in stores on April 2nd, with Target stores carrying an exclusive edition featuring two extra exclusive bonus tracks.

In addition to her upcoming TV performances, Wigmore has been confirmed to play "Live at the Vineyard" in Napa, CA on April 6th (along with The Goo Goo Dolls, Young Blood Hawk, ZZ Ward, etc.), and to open American Idol winner Phillip Phillips' college tour from April 20th in Mt. Berry, GA through to its May 17th conclusion at Ohio State University. (Please see complete tour dates below.)

Over the last year, Wigmore's songs have been omnipresent to American audiences through over 30 synch usages in advertising, film, TV soundtracks and promotions, and video games. In addition to the Heineken & Guinness advertisements, her songs have been heard in shows and spots for Lowe's, FOX's Mob Doctor and Bones, CBS' Blue Bloods, ABC's Grey's Anatomy, Revenge and Nashville, NBC's Deception, MTV's Teen Wolf, VH1's Mob Wives, and numerous others.

Earlier this year, after Wigmore's powerhouse performance of "Man Like That" on Jimmy Kimmel Live!, blogger Perez Hilton proclaimed, "the brilliant beauty took over. last night and treated the world's eardrums to a multitude of marvelous eargasms!! . ahhh, it's glorious," and Huffington Post blogger Jon Chattman was equally ecstatic, exclaiming, "Gin Wigmore demands your attention."

Gin Wigmore, a singer-songwriter since age 12, is a sensation in New Zealand, where her albums HOLY SMOKE and GRAVEL & WINE both hit #1 on the national chart, and have sold a combined 8x Platinum. At age 18, Wigmore won out over 11,000 other entrants at the International Songwriting Competition in the U.S. for her song "Hallelujah," in response to her father's death two years earlier.
