Gang Colours Announce London Show On October 22nd 2013

Admirably showcasing his ability to compose introverted, slightly reluctant pop, 'Why Didn't You Call?' is the second single to come from Will Ozanne, aka Gang Colours', richly textured sophomore album Invisible In Your City, released on September 16th through Gilles Peterson's Brownswood Label. A classic tale of boy-meets-girl, 'Why Didn't You Call?' is founded on his trademark fragile piano chords, gradually building into a pulsing 4/4 groove laced with gentle samba percussion and gospel choir backing - a Ieft-leaning, slightly awkward pop song of the highest calibre, reminiscent of the late, great Arthur Russell.

Co-written with the supremely talented Lulu James, this is a traditional (and perhaps unlikely) duet balancing Ozanne's raw emotion with the effortless poise and elegance of Miss James - a truly unique British soul vocalist poised to break through into mainstream consciousness. She will support Ellie Goulding across the UK in October and join the 'Annie Mac Presents' tour a month later. Her debut album is slated for the beginning of 2014.

Eighteen months have passed since Gang Colours' debut album 'The Keychain Collection' seduced the Worldwide underground with its wistful, beguiling blend of the organic and the electronic. The album 'Invisible In Your City' finds the Botley [Southampton] resident blossoming as a singer-songwriter, completing his metamorphosis from bedroom production prodigy into a confidently  creative and adept songwriter.

The album was inspired by the vocal production of the Beach Boys and The Four Freshmen, and more spiritually by the likes of The Undertones and the Red Hot Chilli Peppers. "Dizzee's 'Fix Up Look Sharp', Paul Young's 'Love Of The Common People' and 'Only You' by Yaz. these are some tracks I find myself referring back to when I need a little inspiration from time to time" says Ozanne on the writing of the album.

Spanning ten tracks, 'Invisible In Your City' is as richly textured as its predecessor, but it's a more self-assured record by an artist growing into his songwriting skin and rising in confidence all the time. An incredible album by an ever-evolving and inventive artist, 'Invisible In Your City' is an  exciting and accomplished follow-up to an acclaimed debut.

In support of the new album, Gang Colours has just announced a headline show at London's Concrete on October 22.
