First Aid Kit Announce Details Of New Single 'Blue' And Jack White Support Dates

First Aid Kit will release their brand new single 'Blue' on 18th June via Wichita

Their last single 'Emmylou' was a radio hit getting playlisted on Radio 2, 6 Music and Xfm and scored 'Record of the Week' plaudits from Edith Bowman and Mary Anne Hobbs. Together with their latest album 'The Lion's Roar' entering the top 40 in the UK and selling 100,000 copies worldwide in the first six weeks of release (and a number 1 spot in their home country Sweden which has since gone Gold) First Aid Kit have had a phenomenal year, reflected by their Spotify streams reaching an unprecedented 7.3 million hits.

To top it all off, the girls played a bewitching set to a to packed out Scala in February and will return to play with none other than Jack White ("I loved their voices and their innocence... listening to them sing is very powerful. They're wonderful") at his sold out London shows in June. Festival dates will follow including Latitude, Bestival and End of the Road.

First Aid Kit UK dates:

Thur 21 June London Brixton Academy w/ Jack White SOLD OUT

Fri 22 June London Hammersmith w/ Jack White SOLD OUT

Fri 13 July Latitude Festival

Fri 31 August End of the Road Festival

Fri 7 September Bestival

First Aid Kit's first American-recorded and Mike Mogis produced album, 'The Lion's Roar' juxtaposes sadness and beauty in the best traditions of folk and country music. They even cite the Louvin Brothers cheerfully brutal version of the old murder ballad 'Knoxville Girl' as the perfect example of the sweet and sour they adore. And this carefully constructed collection deftly succeeds in setting references to their home town of Stockholm and long dark Scandinavian winters against an unforced backdrop of country-rock swing.

'The Lion's Roar' garnered an impressive response with stellar 4/5 reviews from Mojo, Uncut and Q, as well 4.5/5 in The Sun and 5/5 in the Sunday Telegraph. In the last year alone, the Söderberg sisters from Stockholm have worked with Jack White, sung for Patti Smith and toured with Bright Eyes and Lykke Li. First Aid Kit are set to grow even more rapidly based on the strength of this second, most accomplished album. 2012 is shaping up to be their year.
