David Ford To Release Fourth Album 'Charge' On March 18th 2013

The debut album 'I Sincerely Apologise for All the Trouble I've Caused' by Eastbourne's own David Ford, was released by the Magnolia label back in 2005. It was named one of the 'ten albums of the year' in both The Sunday Times and Word Magazine. Tours of the UK and USA followed, opening for artists such as Elvis Costello and Ray LaMontagne. USA festivals, Bonnaroo and Austin City Limits were played, alongside David's first TV appearance

Second album, 'Songs for the Road', was released by Independiente in 2007. The lead single 'Decimate' was A-listed at Radio 2 and a tour culminated in a sold out performance at London's Shepherd's Bush Theatre. The video for the album's opening track, 'Go To Hell'

highlighted David's use of looping techniques and over the next few months it received over half a million YouTube hits.

After the closure of Independiente, third album 'Let the Hard Times Roll' was recorded by David at home. Notorious engineer/producer James Brown (David Grohl, Foo Fighters) - a fan of Davids - mixed the album on his kitchen table for the price of a few pizzas and the album was released in 2010, by Magnolia with exceptional praise in the press.

A headline gig at London's Koko Theatre (5/5 The Guardian, 100% The Times) and a self booked, self promoted North American headline tour, all saw sold out shows. David appeared at the Latitude Festival in the UK for the second year running and a double page feature in the Culture Section of Sunday Times was published.

In 2011, David detailed stories of life as a full time songwriter and musician in a book 'I Choose This - How to Nearly Make it in the Music Industry'. It was printed through the Magnolia label and was followed by a sold out 'reading tour' of British music venues. Each show featured excerpts read by David and acoustic performances of his most well loved and significant songs.

Most recently, French pop legend Johnny Hallyday, announced himself to David as a fan. He told him he had covered 'I'm Alright Now' from 'Songs for the Road' and that it was a hit in France with Hallyday's album reaching Number One! Hallyday has now commissioned David to write more songs for him and to help produce tracks for his forthcoming 'English language' album.

After more lengthy US tours in 2011 and 2012 and assisted and advised by co-producer James Brown, David set about recording his fourth album 'Charge'. The album sees Ford taking a more muscular approach to his sound than has usually been the case and the influence of the many months he has spent travelling across the USA can be heard in both the lyrical content of the songs and in the influence that listening to a radio diet of Memphis Soul, New Orleans jazz and New Jersey rock n roll has had upon the music. 'Charge' will be accompanied by extensive tours of the UK, Ireland, Canada and the USA during the months of March to June 2013.
