From Paris, Cleo T performs music that sits somewhere between ethereal folk and dark cabaret. Her album 'Songs of Gold and Shadow' was produced by John Parish, probably best known for his work with PJ Harvey. Lyrics written by Robert Wyatt especially for Cleo T feature in the album's epilogue entitled 'So Long Ago Yesterday'.
Opening the curtains on her chiaroscuro theatre, Cleo.T presents the first single from her debut album 'Songs of Gold & Shadow' produced and recorded in Bristol by John Parish. Cleo's songs blend symbolistic harmonies and the tones of ancient europe with dark romanticism and shimmering poetry.
Cleo takes us on a mystical ride, a nocturne in blue and gold, reminding us of Alice sleeping in the Peacock Room, or Salome dancing in the last chance saloon. This album is a far away journey (an invitation au voyage) and a cabaret for modern times, chiming and teasing in the manner of the glamorous divas of a bygone Parisian golden age Cleo takes us on a walk with love and death and all with a lace corset and high heels.
On the road since 2010, Cleo T. has been singing across Europe with piano, harp and cello, from Berlin to London and to the Southern tip of Italy. Winner of the Paris young talent contest in 2012, she recently performed at both the Olympia hall and at the Solidays charity festival in Paris.
Cleo T will be returning to the UK to tour in Febuary 2014 coinciding with the release of 'Songs Of Gold & Shadow'.
