Autumn Owls Announce Debut Album 'Between Buildings, Toward The Sea' Out October 23rd 2012

Autumn Owls are pleased to announce their debut album, Between Buildings, Toward The Sea, will be the first release from Epitonic.com's new label, October 23. The Dublin, Ireland trio headed over to the U.S. with twelve of their favorite songs to enter the studio with producer Brian Deck (Modest Mouse/Iron & WIne), creating a rich and dark freshman effort.

Webby-winning independent music discovery site, Epitonic.com launched in 1999 (and re-launched in 2011), and is synonymous with helping indie music fans discover new favorite artists through a free and legal means. With last year's re-launch Epitonic began recording live sessions at saki Records, a storefront connected to their office, and posting the audio and video content as exclusive content weekly. Epitonic views the launch of their new record lable as the most logical next step.

Autumn Owls first formed in Dublin in 2007, releasing two well-received EPs in 2008, touring extensively in Europe the next few years, along with North American performances at SXSW, CMJ, Canadian Music Week and NXNE. The band finally settled in to writing their debut full-length late last year, offering up a free track, "Spider" to Epitonic. Before heading into the studio with Brian Deck, the band recorded a live session at saki Records, which is available as of today for download here. The relationship between the two quickly blossomed. In addition, the band is currently running a fundraising/pre-sale campaign on PledgeMusic in order to raise some money for a vinyl run. Purchase options include digital, CD, vinyl, and a number of exclusive and signed items. Any money raised over their modest goal will be split with non-profit group Project Night Night, who organizes giftbags of blankets, books and stuffed animals for children in shelters

Further details on the album will be made available in the coming weeks.
