Asgeir Announces London Headline Show April 2014

Asgeir, who plays a sold out Bush Hall show this evening, has announced his next London headline will be at the Union Chapel on Tuesday 8thApril. Tickets available here

The remainder of his current UK tour runs as follows:
Wednesday 11th December - London, Bush Hall SOLD OUT
Thursday 12th December - Brighton, Green Door Store
Sunday 15th December - Glasgow, Broadcast
Monday 16th December - Manchester, Deaf Institute

Born and raised in the hamlet of Laugarbakki (population, 40) in the wilds of Iceland, Asgeir comes from a large family of musicians. Last year, at just 20 years of age he became an overnight sensation in his domestic music scene with the September release of Dyrd í dauoathogn breaking all records to become Iceland's fastest and biggest selling debut album by a home grown artist - outselling even Bjork and Sigur Ros. Staggeringly, one in ten of the Icelandic population now own the album.

Produced by Gudmundur Kristinn Jonsson, in Iceland the unusual poetry of Dyrd í dauoathogn has attracted almost as much attention as the music itself. Combining both electronic and organic elements with r'n'b production touches, the songs themselves are all Asgeir: light and airy, inset with his distinctively melancholic voice, their vibrancy elevating their appeal way beyond the folktronica tag.
