THE ALLMAN BROTHERS BAND have finalized the line-up and set times for next weekend's (August 15-18) second annual PEACH MUSIC FESTIVAL. Kicking off Thursday 8/15, the mountainside festival atScranton, PA's Toyota Pavilion at Montage Mountain Water Park features four days of music from such acclaimed artists as the ALLMAN BROTHERS BAND (two nights), BOB WEIR & RATDOG (two nights, plus Bob Weir solo acoustic), THE BLACK CROWES, GRACE POTTER & THE NOCTURNALS andGOV'T MULE and as well as nearly 20 other performers on two stages.
This marks the second year for the PEACH MUSIC FESTIVAL, which debuted last August with the ABB, ZAC BROWN BAND, O.A.R., TEDESCHI TRUCKS BAND, DARK STAR ORCHESTRA and more, drawing over 30,000 fans. Like last year, fans will enjoy a wide variety of nearby camping options as well as a water park.
The fun begins Thurs (8/15) with the "Peach Kick-off Party Feat. Rusted Root and More" and thenThe Allman Brothers Band--GREGG ALLMAN (vocals and keyboards), BUTCH TRUCKS (drums and tympani), JAIMOE (drums), WARREN HAYNES (vocals, lead and slide guitar), DEREK TRUCKS (slide and lead guitar), OTEIL BURBRIDGE (bass) and MARC QUINONES (congas and percussion)--will be headlining the Peach Stage on Friday and Saturday nights, preceded by Bob Weir & RatDog. OnSunday, the Peach Stage kicks off with a stripped down set--dubbed Brunch with Bobby--a solo acoustic performance by Bob Weir. Closing out The Peach on Sunday is The Black Crowes. Other artists on the bill are RAILROAD EARTH, GALACTIC, DONAVON FRANKENREITER, TAUK, MiZ, MATT SCHOFIELD, LOTUS, JAIMOE'S JASSSZ BAND, KARL DENSON'S TINY UNIVERSE, FLOODWOOD, DOPAPOD, ROYAL SOUTHERN BROTHERHOOD, GIANT PANDA GUERILLA DUB SQUAD, CABINET, BILL EVAN'S SOULGRASS, DIRTY DOZEN BRASS BAND and GREENSKY BLUEGRASS.
Iconic Rock & Roll Hall of Fame inductees and Grammy Lifetime Achievement Award-winning band TheAllman Brothers Band just celebrated "The Year of the Peach" in 2012, marking their 44th anniversary as a group. The group performed their annual New York City Beacon Theatre with 11 sold-out shows in March and are hitting the road this month with Grace Potter & The Nocturnals and Steve Winwood supporting various dates.
