Former Powder rocker Pearl Lowe is urging Lily Allen to rethink plans to swap London for a quiet retreat in the English countryside - insisting the 24 year old will be making a big mistake if she leaves the British capital.
The young pop star recently purchased a $2.08 million (£1.3 million) house in the English Cotswolds, insisting she wants to put her glitzy life on hold and retreat to a remote country estate.
Lowe, 39, left London several years ago to bring up her children in a secluded corner of south-west England and although she loves life outside the city, she fears Allen will feel bored and restless after a few months of country living.
She tells Britain's Hello! magazine, "I can't help feeling that at 24, she is too young to be making such a move. I can imagine that she must long for the anonymity and privacy that country life can offer. But, Lily, be warned, adjusting when you have spent most of your life in the Big Smoke (London) can be tough. What's right for me, a 39-year-old mother-of-four, isn't necessarily right for a girl in her twenties. All I would say to her is to keep her options open and not to turn her back on London, or her youth, too soon."
