Rapper/actor Plan B has lost a massive 28 pounds (12.7 kilograms) ahead of a movie shoot after co-star Ray Winstone advised him to slim down.
The star, real name Ben Drew, will play British actor Dennis Waterman's character Detective Sergeant George Carter in a film remake of classic U.K. cop series The Sweeney opposite Winstone's Detective Inspector Jack Regan, previously portrayed by the late John Thaw.
The pair met up over the summer (11) to discuss the project and Drew, 27, reveals a comment from Winstone prompted him to embark on a drastic diet.
He tells Britain's The Sun, "Ray came into the studio and we were talking about my character and how someone as young as me has got the part.
"We were saying how I've got to be a man in his early thirties, super-smart, excels in exams, brilliant at sports and Ray looked me up and down and goes, 'Are you sure you're going to get yourself in good enough shape?'
"I thought right then and there, 'I'm going to do it'. That's the extra incentive I needed. I thought I'll f**king show you, pal. I haven't seen him since losing it all. I can't wait to see his face.
"I've cut out bread and everything else that goes through a human process - pasta, bread, all that s**t - and I do weights sessions three times a week. I was f**king 14 and a half stone before I started training - that wasn't healthy for my age and size."
