Placido Domingo and Cheech Marin have teamed up to lend their voices to what has been billed as the first Hispanic themed and produced major animated film.

SIAN KA'AN will be directed by RAUL GARCIA, while Puerto Rico based MUVI FILMS will produce it.

MUVI is aiming to hire bilingual actors so that the celebrity value of the voices translates into English-speaking and Spanish language territories.

The musical - whose soundtrack will be in English and Spanish centres around a young girl in a small town who has to rescue her father and save the 'golden snail' from extinction. The snail is linked to the survival of all species on Earth.
