Pixie Lott (born Victoria Louise Lott, 12.1.1991) Pixie Lott is a Brit Award-nominated singer and songwriter. She rose to fame with the release of her debut single, 'Mama Do (Uh Oh, Uh Oh)', which went straight to number one.
Childhood: Pixie Lott was born in Bromley, in South East London. Her father is a stockbroker and her mother is a housewife. She was nicknamed Pixie by her mother when she was a baby.
As a child, Pixie sang in her school choir, and attended the Italia Conti Associates Saturday School in Chislehurst from the age of five. She then went on to attend the main Italia Conti Academy of Theatre Arts, after being awarded a scholarship there.
As a student, she appeared in a West End production of Chitty Chitty Bang Bang. Pixie also appeared in the BBC's Celebrate the Sound of Music, playing the role of Louisa von Trapp.
Aged 14, Pixie Lott performed as part of the chorus line for the opera Ca Ira, by Roger Waters, formerly of Pink Floyd.
Music Career: Pixie Lott made a breakthrough when L.A. Reid signed her to the Def Jam group, when she was just 15 years old. However, when she changed her manager, she eventually changed her record contract, and signed to Mercury Records (UK) and Interscope Records (US).
Lott's debut festival appearance was at 2009's Isle of Wight Festival, during her debut UK tour, in which she supported The Saturdays.
Pixie Lott's debut single was 'Mama Do (Uh Oh, Uh Oh)', released in June 2009. The single went straight to umber one on the UK singles chart as well as the iTunes chart, selling over 50,000 copies and being certified platinum in August 2009.
That same month, Pixie Lott had performed at the MTV World Stage Live in Malaysia, along with Kasabian and Dizzee Rascal.
Pixie Lott's next single, 'Boys and Girls', was released in September 2009 and became another number one for her. The single was followed by her debut album, entitled Turn It Up. The album was awarded 'gold' status the following month.
The third single to be released from Turn It Up was 'Cry Me Out'. The video for the single was directed by Jake Nava, who has made a name for himself directing videos for Beyoncé, Leona Lewis and Shakira.
Pixie Lott has written tracks for other artists, including Lisa Hordijk (the winner of the Dutch X Factor) and Alexandra Burke.
Lott has also made a number of TV appearances, in productions such as Alan Carr: Chatty Man, Loose Women and Friday Night with Jonathan Ross.
The singer is taking on Audrey Hepburn’s iconic role in the London musical.
Singer Pixie Lott has had the unenviable task of filling the shoes of Audrey Hepburn, as she takes on the role of Holly Golightly in a musical version of Breakfast At Tiffany’s. The 25-year-old has received mixed reviews from critics for the West End play, with some praising her “energy”, while others finding the production as a whole falls flat.

The Evening Standard’s Fiona Mountford, gave the production three stars and wrote: “Lott is decent enough, if vocally underpowered at times, accompanying herself on the guitar as she sings Moon River passably. Yet nothing about her performance hints at the enduring appeal of Holly, who earns her living from a variety of rich men in ambiguous ways.”
The London-born singer performed at a televised Remembrance event at the Albert Hall on Saturday evening, but was accused of sniggering with Rod Stewart during one of the hymns.
Pixie Lott has come in for heavy criticism on social media after she appeared to be laughing during a Remembrance event over the weekend.
The 24 year old singer was standing next to veteran rocker Rod Stewart at Saturday’s televised Festival of Remembrance (November 7th) at the Royal Albert Hall, and the pair at one point seemed to share a glance, with Lott bearing a huge and rather out-of-place grin as she stifled her giggles while they were supposed to be singing the hymn 'Great is Thy Faithfulness'.

Pixie Lott is following in the footsteps of Audrey Hepburn.
Pixie Lott is to take on the iconic role of Holly Golightly in a near touring production of Breakfast at Tiffany's. Based on Truman Capote's classic novella - the film version of which made a star of Audrey Hepburn - the latest adaptation is by Richard Greenberg, the Tony award winning writer of Take Me Out.
Pixie Lott is to play Holly Golightly on stage
It marks Lott's debut in the West End following a successful pop career that includes three number one singles. She called the gig a "a dream come true", adding: "I absolutely love Holly's style, and free spirit; she has always been an icon to me and I can't wait to bring my own personality to the role."

'The Wolf of Wall Street' actress Margot Robbie has debuted a new hair colour at the One For The Boys charity ball in London.
If someone was to ask Margot Robbie if blondes have more fun, she’d now be able to give an informed decision. This year the actress, who made her name starring alongside Leonardo DiCaprio in The Wolf of Wall Street, has dyed her tresses from blonde to brunette and now she’s debuted a new copper-coloured do.

23-year-old Robbie stepped out at the Natural History Museum in London to attend the One For The Boys male cancer foundation charity fashion ball. The event is just one of several which have taken place throughout the year to raise awareness and funds for cancers which affect men. The ball began with a champagne reception, which was followed by dinner prepared by Michelin star chefs, an auction and a fashion show.
It will be the 22 year-old's third role in acting
It’s been announced pop star Pixie Lott is to jump over the stage barrier and get in front of the cameras after it was revealed by the BBC that she’s to join the cast of BBC1 drama Inspector George Gently.
Lott is going to play opposite main actor Martin Shaw in the detective drama set in 1969. She will begin filming in Northumberland in April for her part and, according to The Sun, seems pretty eager to get going on it. “I love the fact that Inspector George Gently is set in the Sixties” she told the paper. “It will be great to be filming in the North-East and getting to play a role that gives me a real feel for the period.”

Nicole Scherzinger was the guest of honour at last night’s launch of EE, the 4G network. And to add a real sense of occasion to the event, she was wearing the first ever ‘Twitter Dress.’ The elaborate garment was designed by Cute Circuit and included 500 Swarovski crystals, according to STV, as well as around 2000 LED lights, which displayed messages posted to Twitter, when users included the address @EE and the hashtag #tweethedress. So, as Twitter users posted messages, they scrolled across Nicole Scherzinger’s… er… lower regions. We’re not entirely sure WHY this dress was invented but it sure looked interesting!
They’d done a decent job of hiding all the necessary battery packs and LED fittings, anyway and Nicole was looking sumptuous as ever in the silk chiffon dress. We’ll bet she was pretty warm inside all those lights, though; especially when she took to the stage to perform ’Try With Me’ and the Pussycat Dolls song ‘Don’t Cha’ Nicole may have been the only celebrity there in a ground-breaking Twitter dress, but there were plenty of other stars out in force last night.
Kelly Holmes, Pixie Lott and Jimmy Carr were also in attendance at the event, which was hosted by EE, the company that owns Orange and T-Mobile, to launch the UK’s fourth generation mobile network. Tomorrow, of course, will be back to normal for Nicole Scherzinger, as she will return to the judging panel on X Factor.
Pixie Lott has had an amazing year. After a number one debut album and seven top twenty tracks, Pixie Lott has now released an updated version of her debut offering, Turn it up Louder. With the original twelve tracks, the LP also offers a further 10 new tracks. But as Turn it up Louder exemplifies, quantity does not always equate to quality.
