Ever since we heard the synopsis for Pixar’s Inside Out we’ve been eagerly awaiting any new details we could get our hands on. We’ve already gushed about how it could end up being Pixar’s best outing yet, but now we’ve finally got our first real taste of what to expect, as a brief teaser trailer has debuted online.

Set to Aerosmith’s ‘Sweet Emotion’ (an obvious but no less brilliant choice), the Inside Out trailer begins by reminding us why we love Pixar so much. Clips from movies including Toy Story, Finding Nemo and Up (which we’re still not over), flood the screen as we relive ust how emotional Pixar has made us feel over the years.

But why all this nostalgia? Well, it’s because our emotions are at the very core of Inside Out, actually they’re the main characters. Joy, Fear, Sadness, Disgust and Anger are all personified in the movie as stand alone characters existing inside the mind of little girl named Riley who is having a tough time as of late, after her parents move the family across the country away from her home and friends.

A voice cast which includes Amy Poehler, Bill Hadler and Mindy Kaling are on hand, portraying the various and sometimes conflicting emotions present inside Riley's mind. While behind the camera is Oscar-winner Peter Docter, known for his work on Up and Monsters Inc.

It's an ambitious plot which sounds more surreal and complex than most children's movies. But Inside Out could see Pixar return to their innovative best, producing a movie which manages to entertain and engage all ages. Seriously, we haven't been this excited for an animated movie since Toy Story 3 and look how well that turned out.
