Pierce Brosnan's wife is suing a Los Angeles restaurant because she reportedly cracked a tooth on a piece of walnut shell.
Keely Brosnan - who married the former James Bond star in 2001 - has launched legal action against the R&D Kitchen in Santa Monica after she was left "sore and ill" following a visit to the eatery in October 2009.
It has now been claimed Keely bit into a slice carrot cake only to find a rogue fragment of rock hard walnut shell and this could have been what caused her injury.
A representative for the R&D Kitchen told TMZ.com that Keely had complained about the shred of shell when she dined at the restaurant.
The establishment claims it immediately contacted its insurance company after the unexpected cake incident, insisting "we take food safety and cleanliness very seriously."
In her lawsuit Keely claims she "sustained serious and permanent injuries to her health, strength and activity" after eating at the restaurant.
Keely - who has two sons, Dylan 14, and 10-year-old Paris, with Pierce - is asking for unspecified damages in the case.
