John Terry proved a slippery customer himself when he failed to turn up at the opening of Reptile Kingdom, in Surbiton. The Chelsea defender was due to make a personal appearance at the shop which deals in snakes and lizards but with crowds of fans waiting for an hour, it became clear that Terry was not going to show. Among the disapointed supporters was Taylor Newton, who had travelled from Woking to wait for three hours to meet his hero before being told by a security guard that Terry would not be coming, sayingAfter yesterday - he feels he's let people down, a reference to his Chelsea side's loss to Queen's Park Rangers. Staff at the Reptile Kingdom tried to placate the angry punters by bringing out live animals as well as handing out sweets and raffle tickets. Meanwhile, local residents were heard complaining about the road being blocked by the crowds.
