Debbie Wingham - **Images by Adel Hanna from Studio 67** Haute couturier Debbie Wingham globally renowned for her beautiful and extravagant gowns has traded in her love for fabric for fondant and created "The world's most expensive cake". The title holder for the most expensive garment in the world to date who in previous years created the world's most expensive black diamond dress and the red diamond abaya which was valued at a staggering 17.7 million dollars. Now the couturier turned caketress has blown the proverbial "ginger bread roof off" with a mouth-watering price tag this cake is a jaw dropping £48.5 million pounds or 74 million USD. The previous title holder for the world's most expensive cake was created by a fellow brit and was valued at £32.4 million. Wingham's cake is very true to the fashionista that she is and it's actually a 6 ft. long runway cake, the models on the runway are very long, lean and elegant. The garments on the runway resemble Wingham's couture clothing, the edible version of Wingham's signature style is captured with the fluid looking gowns and the strong adornments. Many of the details were added because they were subtle nods to the clients' interests like favourite publications and certain members in the audience were family members and close family friends. Several of the models were also wearing gowns that were edible versions of pieces that wingham had previously made for the client. Identical to front row of any international fashion show the edible master piece features numerous nationalities and age groups much like fashion week, you can depict the personalities of many of them. The front row all have designer hand bags and shoes some are even sporting designer shades. Like runway shows during fashion week the front row are using smart phones and tablets, taking pictures and updating social media, taking notes etc. The edible installation even as miniature fashion publications, show running orders, tickets and of course no front row is - Beaconsfield, United Kingdom - Monday 7th September 2015 (1 Picture)
