On the day all the offical Olympic lanes open from 6am till midnight, confusion once again occurred in Central London as sections of the Marylebone road seemed to be open to all traffic. Or perhaps the drivers had just decided to not obey the new lanes rules, one commuter decided to cycle to work, while the official Olympic coach was stuck in traffic.

Traffic build up is already evident at 7am in the morning as the Olympic Lanes open for the first time on 25 July, 2012, on the M4 near Hammersmith. The lanes may be used by designated vehicles only and ordinary motorists caught using them will face a fine of130 GBP. Most lanes will stay open between 6am and midnight each day until August 14 and there are fears that they will lead to gridlock in and around the capital.
