Parrot Born After Egg is Fixed With Tape - Thursday 20th March 2014

It is hoped a further four kakapo eggs in incubation care will hatch in the next few weeks. Preserving the kakapo is essential for New Zealand's biodiversity. They are the world's heaviest parrot at 2-4kg and, ironically, live the longest of all birds in the world with a life expectancy of 95 years. . . Some have even lived to 120 years of age. - New Zealand - Thursday 20th March 2014 (9 images)
