Pia Toscano, the singer-songwriter and former American Idol contestant, could see her debut album rush-released, reports USA Today. Pia Toscano's record may hit shelves before the first album of the eventual 'Idol' winner, according to the executive producer KEN WARWICK.
Toscano, who was considered the favourite to win this year's reality singing contest, was shockingly eliminated from the show two weeks ago. She has since been in negotiations with a number of major record labels, most notably Interscope. Speaking earlier this week, producer Warwick said label bosses will be looking to release Toscano's album as early as possible, saying, "It wouldn't surprise me. That's the nature of the business... So, I don't know exactly what the plans for Pia are now, but I know if I was in the record company's seat, I would be looking to get her out sooner". Warwick noted that the winner of American Idol is not necessarily the most successful contestant, adding, "The big star doesn't come from the winner. It comes from either the Top 5 or the Top 10, or whatever".
Pia Toscano is scheduled to perform on the Dancing With The Stars results show next Tuesday (26th April 2011). Her rumoured boyfriend, the professional dancer Mark Ballas, will be performing a choreographed routine to Toscano's yet-to-be revealed song choice.
