The former American football star reportedly raided a suite at the Palace Station Hotel & Casino in Las Vegas, pretending to be part of a group interested in buying memorabilia items from collector Alfred Beardsley.. These items included the suit Simpson wore when he was acquitted of the double murder of his ex-wife Nicole and her friend Ron Goldman in 1994.. At a press conference late on Sunday afternoon (16Sep07), Las Vegas Police Captain James Dillon told reporters Simpson faces charges on two counts of robbery with a deadly weapon, two counts of assault with a deadly weapon, conspiracy to commit burglary and burglary with a firearm.. Simpson was arrested in his room at the Palms Hotel in Last Vegas earlier on Sunday, and was taken to a nearby police station.. Hours later, during the press conference, Simpson was taken to the Clark County Detention Center, and was said to be co-operative during his arrest.. Another man, Walter Alexander, a longtime friend of Simpson, was also arrested for conspiracy to commit armed robbery in connection with the alleged raid. He was released on bail early on Sunday..
