Sixty-six million Americans tuned in to watch MICHAEL PHELPS claim his record-tying seventh Olympic gold medal on Friday night (15Aug08), according to NBC estimates. The swimmer has since claimed his eighth gold to become the only person in history to score as many first place prizes.
