Soccer ace DAVID BECKHAM has silenced critics in the U.S. with his first goal for new team L.A. Galaxy on Wednesday night (15Aug07). He was mobbed by team mates after scoring in the 28th minute of the side's clash against D.C. United, and received a standing ovation from fans when he was substituted after 63 minutes to rest his recently injured ankle.
