For these are the last ever photographs of Marilyn Monroe - and they are expected to fetch thousands of dollars in an online auction.. Six ultra-rare pictures - four featuring the iconic actress and two of Sinatra - were taken at the CalNeva Resort in Nevada in the summer of 1962, just five days before her death from a barbiturates overdose on August 5.. They were part of a set of 36 photos taken of Monroe and others at the resort that summer.. But only six remain - the other 30 were stored in a safe-deposit box at the World Trade Center and were destroyed in the 9/11 attacks.. The opening offer for the six images is set at $7,500 (£5,000) - but experts predict bids could top $100,000 (£66,000) as Monroe memorabilia collectors around the world scramble to get their hands on the rarest photos of the actress in existence..
