FASCINATING FACT 6030

Gay rights groups across America are celebrating a rise in homosexual characters on 2008-2009 scripted TV shows. A new Where Are We On TV survey, carried out by the Gay + Lesbian Alliance Against Defamation (GLAAD), discovered that 2.6 per cent of all leading characters on U.S. TV dramas, soaps and sitcoms are gay - more than double last year's tally (1.1 per cent).
