What better way for a Star Wars bride to skywalk up the aisle. . . than in a pair of Jedi killer heels! Star Wars fans, Gemma and Stephen's special themed wedding took place in a galaxy not so far away - Armitage near Rugeley in Staffordshire, actually. The Starry Warsy eyed couple, who both registered in the 2011 as Jedis, took inspiration for their intergalactic nuptials bash from the wedding of Anakin and Padme from Star Wars Episode II: Attack of the Clones. For their version of the Varykino lake retreat in Naboo's Lake Country, Gemma and Stephen selected the 19th-century Grade II listed country house Hawkesyard Hall as their venue of choice. Retail Advisor, Gemma lit up the occasion in suitable fashion with a bespoke Jedi Order logo pearl headpiece complimenting a dress made by her dressmaker mum. Quirkiest of all was her footwear of choice. Gemma customised her satin pleated and diamante detail court shoes with little more than Mod Podge adhesive and 1978 Star Wars comic books - turning them into a collage of space operatic proportions including snippets of the: Death Star, Millennium Falcon and Tatooine, Padme, Han Solo, Darth Maul and R2D2. The occasion itself was soundtracked with the sounds of Star Wars. Notably 'Cantina Band' by Meco at the reception, the 'Rebel Fleet' and 'the Throne Room' by composer John Williams playing in the ceremony itself. All Invitations and stationary was handmade by the bride featuring the Jedi Order Emblem. Each wedding table was named after a Star Wars Planet. Star Wars 'I Spy' game to keep the guests entertained. The cake topper was custom made in the USA depicting Leia and Han Solo, whilst the cake knife is an authentic replica metal lightsaber of Anakin's and attached to a knife blade by the brides uncle. The bride's Uncle Andrew dressed head-to-toes as Darth Vader escorted her to the dance floor for first dance. And a memorable occasion was made even more so when the original Lord of The Sith himself aka Kei - United Kingdom - Monday 12th May 2014
