The actress played the beloved masseuse on the phenomenally successful series for 10 years, and the star admits seeing the world through her crazy character's eyes on a daily basis stopped her being so serious.
She tells the Los Angeles Times, "Thanks to Phoebe, I don't have to worry - I can have fun. Phoebe was very far from who I was as a person. But part of her definitely rubbed off on me, inspired me to be more optimistic."
Playing Phoebe Buffay on 'Friends' inspired Lisa Kudrow to be more ''optimistic''.
The 47-year-old actress had nothing in Common with the kooky masseuse she portrayed in the sitcom for 10 years but says she will always be grateful to Phoebe for making her more "optimistic" as a person.

Former Friends actress Lisa Kudrow is developing comedy show ideas for US TV network NBC. Kudrow starred as wacky Phoebe Buffay for 10 years until the smash hit show finished in 2004. Working with the star is producer Dan Bucatinsky, the executive producer of Kudrow's first post-Friends project THE COMEBACK, which ran for a season on US TV channel HBO. NBC comedy series vice-president SHELLEY MCCRORY says, "They are a great talent magnet, and they are very prolific. "She (Kudrow) is a great performer and producer, and he is a terrific writer, so the two are a great team."
Former FRIENDS star Lisa Kudrow has vowed to stay away from TV screens to give fans of the show more time to get over its dramatic end. The show came to an end two years ago (04), but Kudrow insists she is still too recognisable as zany Phoebe Buffay. She says, "I think I will have to wait a while. I think, on network TV, I'm still Phoebe to people and it would be hard to convince them otherwise in the bright lights of a sitcom. "It's fair. I'll accept being Phoebe to people for a while longer, given how much fun it was. That's totally fair."
Former FRIENDS star Lisa Kudrow has confirmed the hit TV series was all set for a reunion show, but one male cast member refused a multi-million dollar salary to make a comeback appearance. Rumours of a lucrative Friends reunion started after Kathleen Turner, who played the transvestite father of Matthew Perry's character CHANDLER BING, revealed she had been approached about making more episodes. While bosses at US TV network NBC furiously denied the claims, 42-year-old Kudrow, who starred as Phoebe Buffay in the comedy, has now confirmed proposals for forthcoming shows. But she also reveals that one of either MATT LeBLANC, David Schwimmer or Perry is hampering the proceedings. She says, "There is an opportunity for the rest of us to do a reunion show but one member has said no. "It's one of the guys. I'm gutted."
Kudrow, who played quirky Phoebe Buffay in the show, insists TV is unhealthy for young children and restricts their development.
She says, "I don't actually allow my son Julian to watch TV. I don't think it's appropriate. I'd much rather have him spend time with friends or play sports.
