LATEST: N*E*R*D frontman Pharrell Williams has infuriated organisers of tomorrow's (30SEP04) MOBO (Music of Black Origin) Awards, by refusing to present the prestigious show at the last minute.

The troubled ceremony's bosses are frantically trying to find a replacement for the sexy singer, who is unable to host the event at London's Royal Albert Hall due to scheduling problems - although insiders claim he's pulled out because no well-known hip-hop stars are attending.

This year's (04) MOBO's have suffered a series of disastrous set-backs after nearly all the big-name nominations - including Beyonce Knowles, Usher, Jay-Z, Outkast, Mike Skinner, Christina Milian, Dizzee Rascal, Kanye West and ALICIA KEYS - snubbed the show, followed by William's co-host, MISTEEQ star Alesha Dixon, who rejected the event to perform in Dubai.

Williams' official spokesman said, "Due to scheduling problems it is unfortunate Pharrell has had to withdraw."

An insider tells Britain's DAILY MIRROR newspaper, "This is the worst possible news for the MOBO's and Pharrell knows it. Everyone at MOBO was in meltdown. They couldn't believe Pharrell would do this at the last minute. But it's because he hasn't heard of half the people who are turning up and thinks the organisation hasn't been up to scratch."
