Singer and record producer Pharrell Williams cites music as the leading motive behind his quest for success - not money.

Part of the production duo The Neptunes, Pharrell, 29, is disgusted by claims the massively popular pair will only work for six figure deals - because music is the most important aspect of his career.

He says, "I wouldn't say no dumb s*** like that, because that means I'm working for money and I get up out of bed to make some music, not money.

"You hear me? I mean, you gonna pay me, know what I'm saying? But that's not my drive in life.

"You do what you want to do and the money will come. The music is the most important part."
