Released on December 12th 2011 through Naim Edge Records The Pines is the first single from Phantom Limb's new album and it was produced by Marc Ford formerly of The Black Crowes
Phantom Limb, formed in 2004, are Andy Lowe (Bass); Matt Jones (Drums, Vox); Dan Moore (Piano, Hammond Organ, Vox); Luke Cawthra (Electric Guitar); Stew Jackson (Guitars, Steel Guitars, Vox) and Yolanda Quartey (Vocals). Previously session musicians - excepting Yolanda, who has provided backing vocals for Massive Attack; Will Young and even Adele - various members of the band have collaborated with artists as diverse as Tom Jones; Pee Wee Ellis and Percy Sledge.
Their self titled debut album was released in 2008 and was reissued in 2009. They performed at SXSW in 2008, which led to them supporting Candi Staton on tour in the same year. Phantom Limb have also performed many shows in their native Bristol; this led them to release a live album, called Live In Bristol, in 2009.
