Petra Nemcova stormed to the top of the Dancing With The Stars leader-board after an impressive display on last night's show (4th April 2011), reports MTV News. The supermodel received 25 out of a possible 30 to tie with football star Hines Ward.
The celebrities were asked to choose a song that told a story about themselves. Some tracks were about career challenges, others were dedicated to loved ones or deceased parents. Nemcova danced to the track 'You Raise Me Up', which she listened to after revisiting the area destroyed by the tsunami in Thailand. The 31-year-old said the song inspired her to start a foundation that benefitted those affected by the tragedy. She and partner Dmitry Chaplin danced the waltz and gained unanimous praise from the judges, who dubbed the performance "elegant". Fellow model Kendra Wilkinson performed to a song by Musiq Soulchild and received high praise from Len Goodman and Bruno Tonioli. The 25-year-old former Playboy bunny found herself just behind Nemcova on the leader-board with 23 points.
In December 2004, Petra Nemcova was badly injured in the Indian Ocean earthquake and resulting tsunami. Her then boyfriend Simon Atlee was tragically killed in the disaster.
