Rapper Petey Pablo turned himself in to federal authorities in North Carolina on Wednesday (13Oct10) after learning there was a warrant out for his arrest.
The star, real name Moses Barrett III, was wanted in connection to an incident at Raleigh-Durham International Airport last month (Sep10), when security officers allegedly found a gun in his carry-on luggage.
The Freek-a-Leek hitmaker's representative denied the star had any knowledge of the weapon and he was released on $50,000 (£33,000) bail.
However, investigators are convinced Pablo was fully aware of being in possession of "a concealed dangerous weapon that was and would have been accessible to him in flight", and a federal judge signed the warrant for his arrest earlier this week (begs11Oct10), making the star a wanted man.
Pablo is charged with possession of a firearm by a felon, possession of a stolen firearm and attempting to take the gun onto an airplane.
He surrendered to authorities early on Wednesday and was held in custody for several hours before he was released on his own recognisance, reports TMZ.com.
As a result of his legal trouble, Pablo must check in with a probation officer and alert cops to his travel plans a month in advance.
He will also be submitted to random drug testing and has agreed to refrain from "excessive alcohol" consumption.
Pablo claims he is unable to pay for his own lawyer and will be represented by a public defender when he appears in court to face the charges in November (10).
