Artist Creates Album Covers...On Her Face!

Peter Gabriel and (Peter Gabriel) - I am both, a musician called Lone Taxidermist and a make up artist, so Record store Day seemed like a good way of merging both of my passions. One of the reasons why I love vinyl is because of its true long playing physical format. I decided to listen to each album in full from start to end over and over again until the face was complete. Every time the album finished I would have a glass of wine! But I was getting too drunk especially after Human League!" - London, United Kingdom - Friday 24th April 2015

"#RIPPeaches": So went the hashtag that thousands of Twitter users used to pay tribute to the late Peaches Geldof, who was found dead in her Kent home on Monday with her baby son playing nearby. It's still not known how the 25 year-old mother-of-two suddenly passed away but her distraught family, including father Bob Geldof, have been given the body to plan a funeral whilst the toxicology test results come back. The Boomtown Rats star also lead the tributes to his "beautiful" daughter - read herePeaches Geldof: 1989 - 2014.

Farewell Mickey Rooney: Screen legend and former child star Mickey Rooney passed away last Sunday at home in California after a long illness. Known for his unforgettable roles in Night at the Museum, Breakfast at Tiffany's and National Velvet, the 93 year-old was still making plans to appear in more movies and lived up to his positive "Don't retire - inspire" mantra. An ugly dispute over Rooney's burial and will has erupted since the death but will hopefully soon be calmed so that Hollywood can honour one of its most prolific figures. The inductees for the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame's class of 2014 have been chosen, with Nirvana, Kiss, Peter Gabriel, Hall And Oates, Cat Stevens and Linda Ronstadt all being honoured in the latest induction. As well as these, the E Street Band will be presented with the Award for Musical Excellence at the ceremony, with Beatles manager Brian Epstein and original Rolling Stones manager Andrew Loog Oldham also being honoured as non-performers.

Nirvana

For Nirvana, their induction comes at the first time of asking, with the band only becoming eligible for induction this year. According to the rules of the Hall of Fame, an artist only becomes eligible for recognition 25 years after the release of their first album or single. For Nirvana, their first single came in 1988 with the release of 'Love Buzz,' with their induction coming as "no surprise" to Rock and Roll Hall of Fame President and CEO Joel Peresman or many other people for that matter.

Nirvana
Nirvana are already the early favourites to be inducted

The early favourites, according to the public voting poll, are currently Nirvana, Kiss, Deep Purple and Yes, all of whom have over 10% of the current votes. Nirvana, who make their debut on the nominees list, currently stand as the out right favourites for induction, with the R&RHoF policy only permitting artist who have existed for a quarter of a century or longer as eligible for nomination. Their cover of Shocking Blue's 'Love Buzz' was released as their first single in 1988, which means they are finally able to be taken into consideration.

In a statement, Pink Floyd guitarist and vocalist Dave Gilmour said, "We first met in our early teens. We would gather at Sheep's Green, a spot by the river in Cambridge and Storm would always be there holding forth, making the most noise, bursting with ideas and enthusiasm. Nothing has ever really changed," adding, "He has been a constant force in my life, both at work and in private, a shoulder to cry on and a great friend. I will miss him."

Flashback to the '80s at the Hollywood Bowl for John Cusack and Peter Gabriel

Peter Gabriel John Cusack

One of the most iconic scenes from teenage rom-coms of the '80s, and the only one to have nothing to do with John Hughes, is from 'Say Anything' John Cusack's character Lloyd Dobler, holding a boombox over his head, Peter Gabriel's 'In Your Eyes' blaring out, in an extravagant declaration of love for Ione Court - Lloyd's high school sweetheart. In an entirely unexpected and utterly delightful remake of this classic scene, this weekend John Cusack sauntered on stage to join Peter Gabriel, with a boombox over his head- declaring his love for the singer? Not quite, Cusack handed the boombox over, and Gabriel held it up for the audience.

Cameron Crowe, director of 'Say Anything', was in the audience and Tweeted "Peter Gabriel and John Cusack on stage together at the Hollywood Bowl tonight. Won't forget that... ever". He described the event as "Surreal and beautiful". The event has sparked further rumours of a 'Say Anything' sequel, twenty years after the original.

Cusack joined Peter Gabriel on his vast 'Back to Front' US 2012 tour. The tour celebrates his classic album 'So', playing the album in its entirety at every show. This tour precedes a year's sabbatical from the industry to spend more time with his family. His tour ends this Sunday, with four dates left to perform in California, Connecticut and Virginia.
