Peter Frampton Backs Crowdfunding Campaign For New Guitar Tuning System

Peter Frampton Jimmy Page

The Show Me the Way hitmaker reveals he wanted to help promote the Crowdfunder.com initiative because he is convinced other musicians will benefit greatly from the device, which allows players to change tuning in seconds without having to switch instruments.

The AxCent Tuning Systems gadget currently sells for around $400 (£250), but bosses want to find a way to produce and market a cheaper version for the wider public.

Frampton tells Billboard.com, "This is one of the very few things that I would actually get involved in to go and raise some (funds) because I've used it for many years and actually believe in it... It's incredibly precise. It's never failed me."

Peter Frampton

Rocker Peter Frampton has returned to Facebook.com to address reports suggesting he angrily smashed a camera phone a fan refused to stop using during a gig in Indiana at the beginning of the month (Aug14).

Multiple eyewitness accounts led fans who were not at the concert to believe that the Show Me the Way hitmaker hurled the rude concertgoer's phone into the rafters at the venue, but now the guitarist is giving his side of the story after initially confirming the incident on social media.

He writes, "I did Not take or break his personal property. He got his phone back intact! I'm not sure what make of phone it was but it landed safely on a seat in perfect shape.

Peter Frampton

A beloved guitar Peter Frampton thought he'd lost forever following a plane crash in the Caribbean 30 years ago has been returned to the rocker.

His prized Gibson Les Paul Custom, which he played on his landmark Frampton Comes Alive album was onboard a cargo plane that crashed en route to Panama in 1980, and the guitar great felt sure he'd never see the axe again.

Peter Frampton Becomes The Latest Star To Sue For Digital Royalties

Peter Frampton

Rocker Peter Frampton is suing bosses at A&M Records for unpaid royalties.

The Show Me The Way singer claims he's owed a small fortune from the digital sales of his songs and he's alleging breach of contract and unfair competition in legal papers filed by his attorney Richard Busch, who previously represented Eminem and The Knack's Bruce Gary in similar cases.

The lawyer helped Eminem win a 2010 appeals court decision against Universal and Aftermath Records, which landed him a 50 per cent deal on all digital sales of his tracks.

Frampton's new suit is reportedly similar to that of the rapper's and Busch expects a similar outcome.
