Troubled singer Pete Doherty has been warned by former Thin Lizzy rocker SCOTT GORHAM to kick his drug habits before they destroy him.

THE BOYS ARE BACK IN TOWN guitarist is worried heroin and crack addiction will take former LIBERTINE Doherty's life prematurely - just like his former bandmate PHIL LYNOTT, who died in 1986 aged only 35.

Gorham says, "He should learn from the mistakes we made and the major mistake for us was to get involved in drugs. He should remember that drugs destroyed our band and killed Phil.

"Our drug addiction was never a conscious path taken, it was a trap we fell into. It wasn't premeditated.

"We did lots of drugs and became a big time party band. I'd advise him and anybody else right now that it doesn't work."
