Former Libertines frontman, Pete Doherty, has checked himself into a rehab clinic in Thailand in a bid to finally quit his persistent drug addiction.
The singer, who has received treatment for his drug problems in the past, yesterday flew to the Far Eastern country in a fresh bid to get clean, having previously visited rehab clinics in 2003, 2006 and 2007. This most recent treatment follows his six-month prison sentence he received for possession of cocaine in May 2011. Back in April this year, the singer first publicly announced that he was planning on heading to rehab for a fourth time, confessing that he was "kind of sticking" to his attempts to come off drugs at last. A statement on his website has stated that he left via Heathrow last night and should be at the retreat sometime today.
Pete, who dated the now wed Kate Moss from 2005 to 2007, is currently working on his second solo album, a follow-up to 2009's Grace/Wastelands that received mixed reviews from critics. He also had his first film role earlier this year, in the universally panned 'Confession Of A Child Of The Century co-staring fellow singer/actor Charlotte Gainsbourg and LILY COLE.
