The late Pete Burns will receive a send-off in style, it has been revealed, after eighties legend Boy George offered to pay for his funeral. Pete’s ex-wife Lynne had confirmed she could not afford to pay for the star’s send-off and his old pal, George has stepped in instead.

The Sun has reported that the Culture Club star - and friend of Dead or Alive frontman, Pete - offered his services and is now helping Lynne, and Pete’s husband Michael Simpson, plan Pete’s final celebration.

Pete Burns' image had changed dramatically over the years both stylistically and facially, but he's always managed to stand out. Frontman for the 80s band Dead Or Alive, whose biggest single was the monster hit 'You Spin Me Round (Like a Record)', Pete's own celebrity status was arguably more cemented by his appearance on 'Celebrity Big Brother 4' in 2006 (the same year as Michael Barrymore, Jodie Marsh and Chantelle Houghton).

Tributes from the world of pop and celebrity have been pouring in after Burns died from a cardiac arrest.
Pop singer Pete Burns, the founder of the group Dead Or Alive, has died at the age of 57 from a cardiac arrest.
Burns was catapulted to fame in 1985 with the huge success of the group’s single ‘You Spin Me Round (Like A Record)’, and later participated in the 2006 edition of ‘Celebrity Big Brother’, in which he finished fifth.
A statement released on Monday (October 24th) by his manager and former band member, Steve Coy, his partner, Michael Simpson, and ex-wife, Lynne Corlett, read: “All of his family and friends are devastated by the loss of our special star. He was a true visionary, a beautiful talented soul and will be missed by all those who loved and appreciated everything he was and all of the wonderful memories he has left us with.”
