Penelope Cruz can't cook.

The 'Nine' actress has taken lessons to boost her culinary skills but says although her preparation is good, her finished dishes are always disappointing.

She said: "I can cook a little bit. I can cook a few Spanish dishes but it looks, in movies, that I cook much better than I cook. The things I can make, can taste pretty bad. I am not the most organized person in the kitchen but I took a lot of lessons. But my lessons were more like to be the assistant of a chef so I could learn to cut the vegetables very fast. I can do all of those things really well but then I'm not that good at cooking."

Penelope is not the only star to confess at being a kitchen flop.

'Charlie's Angels' actress Drew Barrymore has previously said she is embarrassed about her lack of cooking talent.

She said: "I don't cook, I can't cook. It is really abominable to see me in the kitchen. My culinary skills are terrible. I can't even make toast that tastes good. I don't have that skill. I will make scrambled eggs for myself on occasions of necessity but I wouldn't even inflict that on anyone else."
