Dance stars Pendulum have sparked rumours of a permanent split after announcing they have no plans to tour or record new material.
The musicians announced last year (11) they were taking a break from live shows but they've now fuelled speculation the retirement is permanent by telling fans there will be "no further" concerts and no albums in the pipeline.
The drum-and-bass group, which formed in Perth, Australia in 2002 before settling in London, became a regular fixture on the festival circuit after releasing three studio albums.
The six members are now working on other projects, with frontman Rob Swire and fellow Pendulum band member Gareth MCGrillen experiencing success with offshoot band Knife Party.
Swire announced the split news by updating his Twitter.com profile this week (begs18Jun12), writing, "There will be no further Pendulum live shows. There are no current plans for a new album in 2013."
