Acclaimed Spanish movie-maker Pedro Almodovar is desperate to make an English language film, but fears Hollywood will be too constricting. The VOLVER director has already considered a string of movie projects including The Silence of the Lambs, The Hours and The Human Stain. However, he's convinced if he had committed to any his creative control would have been curtailed. He says, "I was always scared of losing my independence and freedom. "My experience, talking with other directors here, even (MARTIN) SCORSESE, I said, 'Oh my God, this is incredible. I feel more lucky than you, I mean I work in much better conditions than you.'" Almodovar has already won two Academy awards and Volver, starring Penelope Cruz, has already been chosen by Spain to represent the country for best foreign film Oscar at next year's (07) ceremony.
