Mexican Superstar Paulina Rubio Is Reportedly Returning To The Small Screen For Her First Telenovela Role In Six Years.
The singer/actress has been tapped to create the theme song for an upcoming remake of 1990s show Simplemente Maria, which will star Claudia Alvarez, Jose Ron and Ferdinando Valencia, and new reports suggest Rubio has also been offered a supporting role in the series, according to TVyNovelas.com.
If she accepts the part, it will mark the 44 year old's first acting gig since she appeared in teen telenovela Atrevete a Sonar (Dare to Dream) in 2009. She previously performed the theme song for Pobre Nina Rica in 1995, when she also featured as leading character Alma.
Rubio made her most recent TV cameo last year (14) in America's Jane the Virgin remake, which is based on Venezuelan telenovela Juana la Virgen.
