TV offers have continued to pour in for Paula Abdul following her controversial departure from American Idol - network bosses have asked her to judge or participate in Dancing With The Stars.
The 47 year old announced on Tuesday (04Aug09) longrunning negotiations had fallen through and she had quit the U.S. talent series after eight seasons.
Abdul has been candid about considering a new role on the small screen on popular TV competition So You Think You Can Dance - after the show's judge Nigel Lythgoe revealed he would welcome the singer to the programme "without question".
ABC President Stephen MCPherson now admits Abdul is a top choice for a second celebrity-studded talent competition - where she would critique contestants or perform on the dancefloor.
MCPherson says, "Absolutely, I would love that. I was shocked by that decision (for Abdul to leave Idol). We would love to have her on Dancing, as a contestant, participant or judge. I think she's a huge talent. I think there's a lot made of her in terms of who she is... There's a sensitivity and an emotion to her that balances out Idol, and we'd love to have a piece of that.
"We have no formal plans. I think all possibilities are open. Really, it will depend on where her head is at."
Former Dancing with the Stars contestants include rapper Lil' Kim, actress Denise Richards, actor Gilles Marini and rocker Belinda Carlisle.
