Paul Weller has nothing but disdain for his former JAM bandmate RICK BUCKLER, who now plays in the punk act's own tribute group - dismissing the drummer as "sad". Weller is regularly asked if he'll ever consider reforming The Jam, but cites tribute band THE GIFT - named after the first Jam album - as the perfect example of why he never speaks to former colleagues Buckler and BRUCE FOXTON and would never regroup the band. He says, "It's sad, isn't it? I always bite my lip in interviews talking about the other two, the bass player and drummer. "But do you not think that is why I've not spoken to them for 20-odd years, because of things like that? It's possible, isn't it?"
