Singer Paul Weller has quashed rumours he is considering retirement by announcing plans to release a new album.
The former Style Council frontman says he has no plans to quit the industry and would be bored with life without music.
He says, "You know what it is? After, writing, recording and touring every LP, it's so exhausting that you don't want to do it any more. Then a few months down the line you think, right, what am I going to do? I wanted to take this year off, but I'm already writing another LP.
"Soon I'll want to get in and record it, then I'll want to take it out on tour. And the cycle starts again. It's like a f**king curse!"
