Rap sensation Paul Wall has ended Kanye West's reign at the top of the US album charts by taking his debut, THE PEOPLE'S CHAMP, to number one.

The Texas-based rap star sold 176,000 copies of his new album in its first week to land at number one.

In a big week for high new entries on the Billboard chart, rockers Switchfoot's NOTHING IS SOUND album crashes in at number three, Paul McCartney's new release CHAOS + CREATION IN THE BACKYARD debuts at six and Bob Marley's youngest son DAMIAN enters at seven with WELCOME TO JAMROCK.
