We already know that Cody Walker will help smooth the on-screen transition for Paul Walker’s character Brian O’ Conner since his brother’s tragic death last year. But will he stick around for further films in the franchise? It appears so.

"Paul's character Brian O'Conner will be seen retiring while his younger brother will join the crew,” a source told The Daily Mail. "Of course, Cody isn't a replacement for Paul in any way, but the producers were really grateful that he stepped in to help them finish this last film and Cody so likeable and charming," the source continued. "It would be a tribute to Paul that Cody carries on the Walker name in the 'Fast and The Furious' movies."

Cody - who filmed extra scenes alongside his older brother Caleb – broke his silence surrounding his brother’s surprising and tragic death in April. “It still doesn't feel real because sometimes, working in this industry, making films, he'd be away from his family three, four, six months at at time. My only interaction would be a phone call. I know it's going to take a while, it's going to take a few years before it feels real.”

Brothers of Walker, Cody, a trained actor and stuntman, and Caleb will play vital roles in the seventh movie of the hit franchise as filmmakers attempt to deal with Walker’s death within the confines of the hit movie. But with Walker remembered so fondly by fans of the films, a regular role for Cody – even if it were just a cameo – would be well received.

Fast & Furious 7 will be released on April 10 2015.
