Paul Simon marked the 10th anniversary of the 9/11 terror attacks on New York City by performing Sound Of Silence at the Big Apple's memorial ceremonies.
The folk rock icon wore a suit and tie and a 9/11 Memorial baseball cap for the sombre solo performance at Ground Zero.
It was the perfect song for him to sing at the memorial and television footage captured families and friends of those who had perished in the atrocities weeping as Simon performed.
