The Little Prince Trailer

A Little Girl's Mother has high expectations of her daughter, given her own career success, and thus takes it upon herself to plan out her entire life, complete with a rigorous study and exercise schedule. The Little Girl agrees to knuckle down at first, but soon finds herself distracted by her peculiar elderly neighbour, The Aviator, who wishes to tell her the story of his encounter with The Little Prince - an other worldly being who lived on an astronaut before landing in the middle of a desert on Earth. The Little Girl is fascinated by the tale, and starts to understand what the most important things are in life, such as friendship. She starts to lament the idea of growing up and the idea of forgetting the significant things she understands as a child; that only the heart can give her a true vision in life.

Ant-Man Trailer

When you need someone to break into a place and steal something, a career cat burglar is your best bet. Scott Lang (Paul Rudd) is in jail, which isn't the best start, but when Dr. Hank Pym (Michael Douglas) needs a thief, Lang is still his man. Pym was once a miniature superhero known as Ant-Man, yet when Darren Cross (Corey Stoll) takes over his company and tries to mass-market the powerful Ant-Man suits, Pym hires Lang to break in and steal the suit back. From there, he must become the Ant-Man - no matter how much he hates the name.

'Ant-Man': Now We Know What Yellowjacket Looks Like

Paul Rudd Corey Stoll

So after the Ant-Man trailer that refused to show anything other than Paul Rudd and a bit of Michael Douglas, Marvel has now released a series of new pictures including some behind-the-scenes moments and a clearer look at Evangeline Lily's Hope Van Dyne and Corey Stoll's villain Darren Cross.

Ant ManPaul Rudd stars as Scott Lang in Marvel's Ant-Man

Cross, who wears shrinking suit the Yellowjacket, is the main challenger to Rudd's Scott Lang and Michael Douglas' Hank Pym. He also has access to the "Pym Particles" that can shrink matter and has crafted his very own, much more dangerous version, of the Ant-Man suit.

Marvel Releases 'Ant-Man' Teaser! [Trailer + Pictures]

Paul Rudd Michael Douglas

Marvel Studios has released the first full trailer for Ant-Man, giving fans their first real look at Paul Rudd as the shrinking man himself. The internet pretty much imploded when this one hit last night and where better to gauge the critical reaction than on the hallowed pages of Reddit?

Ant ManPaul Rudd as Scott Lang in Ant-Man

But first: a little background. Ant-Man is a weird one. It doesn't carry the same anticipation as The Avengers: Age of Ultron, Captain America 3 or even Doctor Strange, though it's an intriguing movie with an intriguing cast. It was intended as a project for the innovative British filmmaker Edgar Wright though after disagreements over the script, he moved on. Still the major cast - Paul Rudd, Michael Douglas - remained and Peyton Reed came in as director.

You Can Stop Squinting Now, There's A Full-Sized "Ant-Man" Teaser Now

Paul Rudd

Attention, we now have a full-sized trailer for Marvel’s Ant-Man. Well, it’s still 17-seconds long, so technically still a teaser, but at least you can sort of tell what’s happening in this one, unlike their April-Fools-come-early stunt from a few days ago. Ant-man shrinks, the trailer was tiny, there you go. Clever, clever Marvel.

Paul Rudd
Paul Rudd in a Marvel flick is just too right. Right?

After the studio dropped an “ant-sized” version of the teaser, many, including this staff writer, complained that nothing could actually be gleamed from the miniscule video. So what have we learned this time around?

He may be about to take on the big screen as Ant-Man, but it seems Paul Rudd has some unfinished business to attend to on the small screen first. So Here's Why Edgar Wright Pulled Out Of 'Ant-Man'

Edgar Wright Evangeline Lilly Paul Rudd

With Edgar Wright on-board, Ant-Man was easily one of the most anticipated movies in recent years. Paul Rudd in the lead role was an intriguing and creative casting decision and support from Evangeline Lilly and Michael Douglas hinted that Wright and his collaborators were cooking up something special.

However, it became immediately apparent that Wright and Marvel were not meshing and the British filmmaker's vision for Hank Pym's story clearly wasn't in-line with the studio's ingredients for a money-maker.

They Came Together Review

Good

How do you spoof a genre that's already a joke? Filmmakers David Wain and Michael Showalter clearly think the answer is to go for broke with a nonstop barrage of silliness, because some of the jokes are bound to stick. They did the same thing for teen summer-camp comedies more than a decade ago with Wet Hot American Summer, which stars many of the same actors. And while this movie is just as hilarious, it never quite transcends its own jokiness. Because as a rom-com it's never very engaging.

The story plays out as Joel and Molly (Paul Rudd and Amy Poehler) meet up with their friends (Bill Hader and Ellie Kemper) and regale them with the story of their romance. Everything about their courtship is just like in the movies, from the meet-cute to the fact that New York is another character in their story. Molly runs an adorable candy shop, while Joel is a "not too handsome or too Jewish" corporate raider sent to shut her down, but they hit it off, engage in a wildly energetic first sexual encounter, then go through the usual montage sequences on their way to the usual rough patches ("Your dreams don't pay the rent!"), breakups and mad-dash reunions.

Since it's told in flashbacks, the film feels almost like a collection of comedy sketches, most of which are ridiculously funny. The jokes are clever and pointed, with riotous side characters including sassy best friends, inappropriate relatives, idiotic coworkers and clingy ex-lovers. So every scene is a zany mixture of goofy slapstick, surreal visual gags and hysterically overstated emotion. Thankfully, the cast is more than adept at wringing every moment for laughter. Rudd and Poehler have impeccable timing, and they're supported by a terrific cast of seasoned comical actors, including amusing cameos from the likes of Adam Scott, Michael Shannon and Norah Jones.

'Ant-Man' Stands Under The Golden Gate Bridge In First Look Picture

Paul Rudd John Slattery

Marvel’s Ant-Man has had its fair share of setbacks, but production is fully underway now and we have a first look photo to whet our appetites.

Ant ManPaul Rudd as Ant-Man

The photo sees Paul Rudd as the titular ant hero (not anti-hero) standing under the Golden Gate Bridge next to a beaten up old Ford. We’re guessing he’s got some reason to go incognito, as he’s looking fairly conspicuous – hood up and holding a mystery bag. He’s also been in the wars as evidenced by those butterfly stiches on his brow.

Comic-Con Update: Evangeline Lilly Joins The Cast Of Ant-Man Amid Production Mishaps

Evangeline Lilly Corey Stoll Paul Rudd

More Marvel. More cast announcements. This is Comic-Con weekend. The latest round of announcements comes from the production of Ant-Man, one of the Marvel flicks, geared for 2015.

Evangeline Lilly
Evangeline Lilly joined the Ant-Man cast amidst confusion and minor controversy.

The latest batch of actors to be included in 2015’s Ant-Man consists of Evangeline Lilly as Hope Pym, the daughter of Hank Pym and Corey Stoll (The Bourne Legacy, Non-Stop) as a colleague of Pym’s, who later dons the mask of the villain Yellowjacket, Deadline reports. Michael Douglas was previously cast as Hank Pym and of course there’s Paul Rudd in the title role, rounding out the cast so far.

Ant-Man's Yes-Man Is Peyton Reed. He's Directing The Film, Okay?

Peyton Reed Edgar Wright Paul Rudd

After weeks of speculation following Edgar Wright’s high profile Ant-Man departure, a new director has finally been revealed: Peyton Reed will now helm the project starring Paul Rudd and set for release in 2015.

Peyton ReedPeyton Reed at the premiere of 'Yes-Man' back in 2008

Reed is most notable for Yes-Man, the 2008 comedy starring Jim Carrey, but his most critically acclaimed work is 2000’s Bring It On. His highest grossing film is The Break Up, starring Jennifer Aniston and Vince Vaughn.

Are Nicholas Stoller And Michael Dowse The Frontrunners For The Ant-Man Chair?

Edgar Wright Paul Rudd Michael Dowse

The Internet has definitely sided with Edgar Wright since he and Ant-Man unceremoniously split on May 23. That probably has something to do with Joss Whedon’s Twitter salute to the ex-Ant-Man man, but either way, a running joke has prevailed: no one wants to direct Ant-Man. Did we say Ant-Man enough? Ant-Man.

Nicholas StollerNicholas Stoller Could Get The Job

It’s not exactly a desirably gig; the film already has a ridiculous amount of hype behind it, and whoever gets the job will have to stick to a tight schedule with a script that is still in flux. It’s the kind of situation the phrase ‘deep end’ was first uttered for.

Does Anybody Out There Want To Direct 'Ant-Man'?

Edgar Wright Adam McKay Paul Rudd

Following the departure of Edgar Wright, Anchorman director Adam McKay was being courted to direct Ant-Man for Disney and Marvel though has passed up the opportunity. It seemed a strange direction for the movie to be heading in, though the heavyweight studios are likely to have been attracted to McKay's long history with lead star Paul Rudd

Adam McKayAdam McKay Will Not Direct Ant-Man

Wright, who last directed The World's End, had been attached to the superhero movie since 2006 though resigned last week over creative differences. It left Disney scrambling around for a director late on Friday night and they would have confident in landing McKay before the comedy filmmaker rejected their advances.

With Edgar Wright Out, "Ant-Man" Still Lives, But Who Will Take It?

Paul Rudd

Anchorman director Edgar Wright has pulled out of Marvel’s Ant-Man project an his replacement is currently the subject of speculation. According to The Wrap, Rawson Marshall Thurber is the current frontrunner to take on the movie, due out in 2015. “Multiple individuals familiar with the project” have reportedly confirmed the news, though there is still no official word from Marvel.

Edgar Wright
Wright, who directed cult classics like Shaun of the Dead and Scott Pilgrim vs. the World won't add his original style to the movie.

The studio does insist, however, that Ant-Man will make its planned release date of July 17 next year, despite the unforeseen circumstances. Another name reportedly on the list is that of Zombieland director Ruben Fleischer, however due to recent events in his personal life (Fleischer just had a baby with his wife, publicist Holly Shakoor Fleischer) he might be unable or simply reluctant to take on a massive, time-consuming project like Marvel’s next blockbuster. While Fleischer’s latest, Gangster Squad, was one of the most note-worthy flops of 2013, the helmer has proven that he has both the visual chops and the ability to balance drama and comedy with films like Zombieland.
