British actor Paul Bettany has dismissed criticism of his new movie The Da Vinci Code, insisting it doesn't portray Catholicism in a negative light. Bettany, who plays villainous assassin SILAS in the adaptation of Dan Brown's bestselling book, is baffled by the furore surrounding the movie, because is only entertainment. He tells UK magazine Hotdog, "I've heard rumours in the press about Catholics being upset about it but I haven't met one yet and I haven't had a chat with anyone who's upset with us. "We set out to make a film of the book and that's what we've done. I just don't see how so much anger can be generated by a book you blast through in two days. I think it's quite clearly not a philosophical piece."
