TV presenter Patti Stanger has said ''sorry'' for making gay stereotyping remarks during an appearance on Bravo TV show 'Watch What Happens Live'.
Patti Stanger has apologised for making gay stereotyping remarks.
The host of 'Millionaire's Matchmaker' - a dating show that attempts to pair up wealthy men with potential spouses - is "sorry" for her comments on Bravo TV show 'Watch What Happens Live', which saw her tell a caller there is no problem with an open relationship for homosexual men because there is "no curbing the gay".
In a statement to the Gay & Lesbian Alliance Against Defamation (GLAAD), she explained: "I am sorry. I did not mean to offend anyone with my comments last night on 'Watch What Happens Live'."
During the episode, Patti complimented a gay man for looking straight, but the programme's presenter Andy Cohen - who is homosexual - replied: "Why is being straight a compliment?"
She then said: "Because he's not queeny. Like you want a queen. Yeah, I don't think so."
Following the 50-year-old matchmaker's remarks, Bravo said in a statement: "Patti's comments are not representative of the network's beliefs and opinions. We apologise for the offence it caused."
