Acting great Patrick Stewart was married to Sunny Ozell in a ceremony officiated by his good friend Sir Ian McKellen
Sir Patrick Stewart has once again become a married man, and the lucky woman this time is Brooklyn-based singer-songwriter Sunny Ozell, his girlfriend over over five years. According to a source who first spoke to Us Weekly, the actor and his new wife made things official on Sunday, 8 September, with Sir Pat further confirming the news through a picture of the couple uploaded on to his Twitter page.
We hope that Patrick and Sunny have a joyful matrimony
The couple, who got engaged in March, kept the wedding proceedings a secret from the press until the day, ensuring they didn't mention the special day in public until after the ceremony had taken place. Recreating his brilliant Twitter profile picture, Sir Patrick and Sunny posed in a multi-coloured ball pool for a different kind of wedding photo on Sunday (8 Sept.) along with the caption: "Yes, married."
If a ball-pool wasn't enough to suggest that they had a truly memorable wedding, Sir Patrick's good friend and fellow acting giant Sir Ian McKellen even officiated the ceremony and wedded the pair. Sir Ian was ordained a minister before hand - and proudly showed off a picture of himself with his ministerial certificate on his FaceBook on Sunday - and seemingly officiated over the ceremony in a hardly-formal black t-shirt with the word 'Minister' written across the front. According to a source speaking with Us Weekly, the newlyweds didn't stick around for too long after the wedding either, and have already jetted off on their honeymoon.

Patrick and Sunny first met in 2008 at the Brooklyn Academy of Music in 2008 whilst Sir Pat was acting in a Broadway production of Macbeth. Patrick was previously married to Sheila Falconer for 24 years between 1966 and 1990, with whom he has two children; Daniel and Sophia. He was also married to Star Trek: The Next Generation producer Wendy Neuss from 2000 to 2003. Congratulations to both Patrick and Sunny; here's to a long and happy marriage!
